Does Journeys work completely offline?

Yes. Journeys is built from the ground up for full offline functionality. The app binary bundles offline vector map tiles, route geometry, timeline data, guided lessons, quizzes, and a complete 10 MB SQLite database of the King James Version (KJV) and American Standard Version (ASV). You can explore without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity.

Does the app collect any personal data or require a login?

No. Journeys requires no login or account creation. There are no analytics SDKs or third-party advertising trackers. All study notes, highlights, and quiz scores stay strictly on your local device.

What permissions does Journeys require?

Journeys requires no device permissions. It does not request access to your precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library.

Which Bible translations are included?

The app bundles two respected public-domain translations: the King James Version (KJV, 1611/1769) and the American Standard Version (ASV, 1901). Both translations are stored locally in an embedded SQLite database with instant full-text and scripture reference search.

How are locations and historical routes determined?

Every site and route in Journeys is grounded in primary historical texts (Scripture, Josephus, Tacitus, cuneiform annals, Roman itineraries) and archaeological excavation records. Over 1,164 scholarly citations are included. When scholars debate a location, Journeys displays documented rival candidates as hollow markers rather than guessing a single location.

How do I report a bug or suggest a historical correction?

If you encounter a software bug, rendering issue, or wish to suggest a citation or historical correction, please email auth@authentic.how or open an issue on our GitHub Issue Tracker. Please include your device model, OS version, and relevant details.

How do I delete my notes and app data?

All notes and preferences are saved in your device's local storage sandbox. Deleting the Journeys app from your device immediately erases all stored data.
